Reasons For Leakage Of Sealing Packing

(1) Inappropriate selection of fillers. For example, the selected filler is not resistant to medium corrosion, high pressure or vacuum, high or low temperature, etc.
(2) The packing gland is not tightly pressed. Only when subjected to a certain amount of compression force can the packing produce a certain radial deformation, filling the gap between the pump shaft (valve stem) and the inner wall of the packing cylinder, thereby playing a sealing role. When the compression force is small, the radial deformation of the packing is limited, and the sealing effect is relatively poor.
(3) The filler used is too fine. If the filler is too fine, the radial deformation it can produce is limited when subjected to the compression effect of the filler cover, and it cannot provide a good sealing effect.
(4) The filling material is cut too short, and the two sides cannot fit tightly.
(5) The number of packing installation rings is too small to meet the usage requirements.
(6) Incorrect packing installation. The main reason for the incorrect installation of the packing is due to factors such as the angle of the cutting edge of the packing being too large or too small, the incorrect joint method of the packing cutting surface, and the fact that the cutting edges of each ring of packing are not staggered.
